OLD-FASHIONED

EXPERIENCE THE TIMELESS APPEAL OF THE CLASSIC OLD FASHIONED, A GOLFER'S FAVOURITE

Ingredients​

1 jigger (2 ounces) of Bourbon or Rye whiskey

2 dashes Angostura bitters

1 sugar cube (or 1 teaspoon of simple syrup)

Few dashes plain water

Preparation

Muddle: In a lowball glass, muddle the sugar cube (or simple syrup) with the bitters and a few dashes of water until the sugar dissolves

Chill: Fill the glass with ice cubes.

Pour: Pour the whiskey over the ice.

Stir: Stir vigorously for 15-20 seconds to chill and dilute the drink evenly.

Garnish: Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink by gently twisting it above the glass. Drop the peel and a maraschino cherry (if using) into the drink.

THE GOLFER'S QUENCHER: A REFRESHING ARNOLD PALMER NON-ALCOHOLIC COCKTAIL

Ingredients​

Equal parts unsweetened iced tea & lemonade (sweetened or unsweetened)

Preparation

Combine: In a tall, or short glass filled with ice, combine equal parts iced tea and lemonade.

Stir: Stir well to mix the flavours evenly.

Sweet: If using unsweetened lemonade, add a sweetener like honey or simple syrup to taste.

Garnish: (Optional) Garnish with a lemon or lime wedge, and mint. 


Fizzy: Add club soda or seltzer water for a refreshing bubbly version.

Stronger Tea: For a stronger tea flavour, use 2 parts iced tea to 1 part lemonade.

Make it a Daly: Add a single shot of vodka to create the infamous John Daly Cocktail.

Ingredients​
 

2 oz Gin

1 oz Elderflower Liqueur (such as St-Germain)

4 oz Soda Water

Orange or Lemon Slice for garnish


Preparation

Combine: Fill a tall glass with ice.

Pour: Add the gin and elderflower liqueur to the glass.


Top: Top with soda water.

Stir: Gently stir to combine.

Fizzy: Add club soda or seltzer water for a refreshing bubbly version.

Garnish: Lemon, blackberries and/or juniper berries.

CLUBHOUSE MULE

DOUBLE DOWN ON THIS DOUBLE GINGER MULE COCKTAIL

Ingredients​
 

2 oz Vodka

2-4 Fresh Ginger Slices

1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice

4-6 oz Ginger Beer

Lime Wheel for Garnish


Preparation

Muddle: In a shaker, muddle the ginger slices with the lime juice.

Add Vodka: Add the vodka to the shaker.


Fill with Ice: Fill the shaker with ice.

Shake: Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.

Strain: Strain the mixture into a copper mug filled with ice.

Top: Top with ginger beer.

Garnish: Garnish with a lime wheel, mint and/or ginger slices.

CLASSIC CAESAR

THE CLASSIC CAESAR COCKTAIL, CREATED BY WALTER CHELL IN 1969 AT THE CAESAR'S FORUM HOTEL (WESTIN NOW)  IN CALGARY 

Ingredients​
 

1.5 oz Vodka

4-6 oz Clamato Juice

1/2 oz Worcestershire Sauce

A few dashes of hot sauce (such as Tabasco)

Salt and pepper for the rim (optional)


Preparation


​Rim the Glass: If desired, rim a chilled glass with salt and pepper.

Combine: In a shaker filled with ice, combine vodka, Clamato juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce.

Shake: Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.

Strain: Strain into a chilled glass filled with ice.

Garnish: Garnish with a celery stalk and lime

Optional: add bacon, olives, pickles, or even lettuce
